Wedding Day!

Early Wednesday morning found me on the freeway heading into the Portland Growers Market! There were flowers to be bought for a wedding! About a month ago I ordered several bunches of white peonies, white ruffled tulips, white long stemmed Avalanche roses and hot pink Marina roses . ( I must mention Peterkort roses because they have a wonderful web site where you can view all the locally grown roses and if you love roses do take a look)! Peterkort Roses All white flowers for the bride! Notice the soft pink striping in the peony. Peonies are about two weeks late this year and the reason this bride was able to have them.
This bouquet was for the junior bridesmaid. The other four bridesmaids carried similar flowers but a bit larger bouquet.
There was an arbor which I attached more of the same flowers and a few others which included white hydrangea and miniature lilacs. This bride was stunning and her father gave her away in grand manor. The wedding was held at McMenamins Edgefield Manor in a beautiful garden setting! The day was lovely right up until 8pm when the wind picked up and yes, it rained! :))
After I have put together flowers for a wedding there is a huge sense of relief that the flowers held up and they were exactly what the bride had hoped for! There are four more weddings for me this summer and much planning yet to be done! Would you believe that each wedding to come is using ivory and brown as accent colors! It makes my ribbon purchase easy and cost effective! :) I wonder what next years favorite color will be?
