Poppies are all gone....staging begins....
The beautiful poppy garden has gone by the way of the rain, wind and us. Every single plant has been torn from the earth in time to stage and prepare for a July 19th wedding. It had to be done!
It took us several hours to pull the plants up and that does not include all the trips to the goat pasture before the poppies were really gone! The wedding lawn is in the background and it leads into the woods where the ceremony will take place.
What you see in both pictures are two separate piles of poppies. In between the piles of poppies is our electric system which is covered by a white wooden box.

oh noo...those beautiful poppies :( so sad. Are you planting new flowers, can it bloom by wedding day? Wow..that's a lot of work and pressure too? That professor looks just fine and happy, now I'm down to looking @ your goat in the internet..coz, we dont see them around here!!!
Happy week and hugs
I'm new to your blog and have added it to my favorites. What a delightful time I've had scrolling through. Am looking forward to visiting often.
Oh, and, when I saw Stillmeadow listed as a favorite book, I knew I'd found a kindred spirit. You're the only other person I know of who's even heard of it!
what a cute goat!
arlene,
University Place flowers
So I take it the Poppy seed pods are the only part they can get high on. Bummer for the the goats.
Yikes! I don't have any poppies so I know nothing about growing them. Did you pull them out because of the wedding or do you always have to do that? They were gorgeous. I don't know if I could of had the heart to pull them out like that. Is it one of your children who is getting married? My son is getting married in August and my daughter gets married in October! Busy times!
I bet your excited about the wedding. Too bad about the poppies but you can grown more. I just love the Professor and he doesn't have a "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" look, so I am sure the Poppies are fine. Ha!

You are such hard working folk! :0)
would love to be a fly on the wall to see that wedding. Or maybe a bird in a tree would work better than being a fly on the wall since it's an outdoor wedding...
Hi! Julene
Thanks for visiting and commenting. I do like those fresh and super looking strawberries.
I have a lady standing here looking over my shoulder with some knitting in her hands.
Yes they were Sees. I now know what to ask my children to bring back,
That's fun to see the garden start. I also enjoyed seeing the photos of our return home from Brazil.
It was a very special moment!
Love, Heidi
