A perfect gift....
Two years ago we decided to build a tepee for our grand nephew, Silas. It was a surprise for his fourth birthday.
Two years prior we had a wedding on our farm. Our son, Derin, was married and his bride, Andra, wanted red flowers in the garden. I strew poppy seed everywhere, it came up and began to bloom just in time for the wedding. In subsequent years the poppies have multiplied over and over.
Now we have a sea of red for about a month each June.
Sadly enough the poppies don't last long. The rain knocks them over making a terrible mess.
Now I get to my point of the post....the kids got us this print because it reminded them of our place. It is quite amazing to have the two images in one picture. Don't you think? The artist is Nikki McClure of Olympia, Washington. Her work is becoming quite well known and sought after! Nikki's complete works are at http://www.buyolympia.com/q/Artist=Nikki+McClure. You may find something of Nikki McClure's that strikes a cord in you!! Let me know what you think of her things!! Everything she does is done with an x-acto knife!

Perfect! What a great work of art with so much meaning for you!
Sheesh! She can do that with an exacto knife. I'm totally impressed. I also am impressed with all your poppies...
My goodness, its a field of poppy, again as usual, I have not seen a poppy flower, so seeing them in abundance is awesome! The header in my is frangipani ...thanks for willow's comment!! I love flowers but really am hopeless in their names!! And the lotus...it takes forever to bloom :( but it does, its a real wow :) happy week
I LOVE the red poppies, and how you planted them at your daughter-in-laws request, and now they have naturalized.
I will check out the artist's site.
Amd I have to add that your farm is idyllic!
