Watercolor for the Art of it

A sincere artist is not one who makes a faithful attempt to put on to canvas what is in front of him, but one who tries to create something which is, in itself, a living thing.::: William Dobell ::: Taking watercolor classes throughout the year provides a stream of creativity in my days. Painting gives back to me far more than anything I put into it. It is a spiritual experience..a walk through a mystery of life which in my opinion is given to each person by God. Whatever medium you find to create with is not important, but the experience of uncovering it is. These pictures show a smattering of the work that was done by all the people in my watercolor class. We have compiled our favorite paintings, framed and hung them in a gallery hallway at a local country club. It is a very small show, not viewed by many; a debut of sorts and we all had fun seeing the pictures come together in one place.
Jan Glenn is our teacher and critic. Our paintings range from beginner (me) to professional. Everyone is very supportive and we applaud our work together.Jan is a good teacher who encourages us to break out of the box and explore!! We do and we have! Thanks, Jan!

It's great that you can create and then have an opportunity to show your work. So which piece is yours??? :0)

The other picture is a collage and a brand new technique we are learning. It's very abstract, colorful and fun to do! We are using handmade papers and watercolor paints.

You are so fortunate to have several mediums for creativity. Flowers, decorating, cooking, painting. Which is your favorite?

Our weekend will be spent preparing the house and ourselves for our travels. We leave so soon!
