How could you make the world more beautiful?

I really like children's books and have built a small collection to share with my family. Every now and again there is a book that is a favorite and Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney is one such book. The story goes like this..... Alice Rumphius wanted to travel the world when she grew up, and then to live by the sea- just as her grandfather had done. But there is one more thing, he tells her: she must do something to make the world more beautiful. Young Alice does not yet know what that will be...... The story has something to do with Lupines and getting you to think about the course you set in your life....but you must read it for yourself to get the full intention!! It is a wonderful book!
Here are the Lupines that made me think about Miss Rumphius on this day that is finally turning warm. They have taken a battering by the rain but the blooms stand firm as if to say, "Look at me, I am beautiful!"
As the sun warmed the plants, Bart joined me, and I had a few moments of appreciation with the thoughts of Miss Rumphius....what will I do to make the world more beautiful? What will you do? My answer is on the comments page! :)

Hello...You are probably wondering what my answer to the question of "what would I do to make the world more beautiful?" Well, I will take care of what God has given me, appreciate where He has placed me and share the love He has filled my heart with. I will also plant many, many flowers along the way!!

Amen. And I will come along and enjoy the flowers that others who have "the touch" plant for me to enjoy. Then I will praise God for his beauty and the skill he gives...

Julene, you have and do make the world within your reach very beautiful. To be at your home is a feast for the eyes and soothing to the soul.

How can I make the world more beautiful? I can be thankful for the beauty around me and care for what I have, from my home to the landscape and beaches and mountains in my community. And I'll create beautiful and useful things from the fiber that comes my way! And one more thing, no, two things. I'll teach children to appreciate God's creation, and I'll teach children to READ about it.

What a lovely book...and Bart is a sweetie! So glad you are some wonderful days just now. I suppose in a small, teeny, tiny way I see my blog as way to make the world a more beautiful place. Even if only a few see it, then a few may have been delighted. To be able to share joy is happiness for me. It's like sowing seeds of kindness...Someone may be delighted and sow some seeds in turn. :o) Happy weekend, my friend ((HUGS))
