I miss you very much.....my Auntie's and cousin's and friends are fussing something terrible over me!! I get to see the farm animals everyday and I really like the goats a lot!! Bart is very kind to me..rubs up next to me and doesn't run away. Grand Auntie Julene gives me a bubble bath every night and she warms my bottle just a little so that it feels good in my tummy!
I get to have books read to me everyday and we play with all these funny dolls, rubber animals and plastic containers. Auntie Julene lets me drag them all over the house. We don't worry about any messes because it's our special time and aunties don't get upset about those things!Uncle Jim holds me so carefully and is really nice. He gives me little kisses on my cheek and shows me all his buses. I'm ok Mom, Dad and Silas..don't worry! I love you so much and I'll be so excited to see you when you get off the airplane!!
Auntie Julene tried e-mailing you but it didn't work. She said she would keep trying more this week. If the e-mails don't work we will write you another time on this blog!
I will be so excited to see the pictures you have from Brazil and where Daddy grew up!

We can communicate all over the world, even in the jungles and in the cities of the world. I wish we would have had the internet when we were in Indonesia. Mom and Dad would have bought a computer!

Sounds like Claire is getting the royal treatment...bubble baths every night. IN fact, we have not worried about Claire at all because we know she is being well cared for.
Today we went to the beach (beach of the amazon) to a town called MOSQUEIRO. We walked around the town which is pretty run down and then we went swimming in the amazon! I couldn't believe we were there!
Bruce stopped to get cooked shrimp beside the road--which made him quite happy.
Other things we have seen-- ver-o-peso market in Belem. The Theatro da Paz, a theater built by the rubber barrons. We went to a tropical zoo and a bird park which had a butterfly pavilion. We see stray dogs, hundreds of vultures circling everywhere, they are the national bird! People walking everywhere. Silas stepped on a fire ant hill and we found some frogs. Mesquitos! I drank coconut milk from the coconut--it's a natural hydrator. Great ice cream in many flavors.
We go on a boat ride on the amazon tomorrow evening at sunset. Sorry,have to go to our progressive dinner at the base. Pass onto Keith. Bye! Love to all, Heidi, Bruce and Silas

Today Claire went with me to Sandy to pick up my Suburban. The air conditioner was not working. When we came home, Laura and LilliAnne came over for the afternoon. The girls played and took naps. For lunch we had mac cheese, applesause and CUPCAKES!! You can just imagine Claire's face when she saw the cupcakes!!:)
We are just now going out for a walk. The sun is out, finally, and she loves to see the animals each day.
Your days sound very interesting and it must be quite the feeling for Bruce to go where he was so familiar for so many years!
How is Silas after the ant hill?

Hi Heidi, Bruce and Silas,
It's Friday. I have managed to arrange flowers for a wedding and keep Claire entertained. Derin and Andra came over this afternoon and took over so I could finish up the flowers. Nan should be here pretty soon to take Claire for the weekend.
The sun is out today and Claire got to play outside with Derin and Andra. She always gets excited to see the goats!

Hi Again! Nancy picked up Claire last night. Claire was happy to see Auntie Nan and visa versa! Derin and Andra came over for a little while yesterday and took Claire for a stoller ride in and through the woods. Claire enjoyed all the fuss!!
I'm off to the wedding. The bus is packed with flowers and I'm ready to get this job done.

We went on a boat ride last evening--boy was that an adventure. WE had to convince Silas to come and we told him everything would be fine. As soon as we got out there a storm came in. There was thunder and lightning right above us. Silas was scared.He had insisted on having them give him his lifejacket before hand. I was fine with that. There were all these cords and speakers for the band and I was really hoping they wouldn't fry us! Luckily they decided not to do the performance. They put the tarps down so we couldn't see a thing and headed back for the dock. We got our money back and went to dinner instead.
Silas was not impressed with that adventure. He said, " That's why I don't like boats!" Sounds like my mom. Well, now we have a better story!
We are going to a churascaria--a big Brazilian BBQ. Tomorrow we leave for Salinas and we won't be able to communicate for a few days. Kiss Claire.
Thanks for all you are doing. Is she eating well? I'm sure she must be--we don't have problems with that in our family.

Yes, Claire is eating very well!! She may have gained a pound or two even. She sleeps alnight and is happy! She bringsjoy to us by just being in the house!!
I have a booster seat that Claire has been using. It has been fine. I wouldn't leave the room with her in it and I stay at the table with her. It's worked just fine.
The wedding went well. It's over and we are home...that's good! Claire should be here a little later. Nancy has enjoyed the weekend with her! Claire came to church with Nancy this morning and took a nap during the service.

We hope to plant some part of our garden today. It's been raining too much and the dirt is not dry..it make it hard to plow and rake. Claire will enjoy being outside with us!!
