We have several very old dogwood trees growing in our woods, with two of them close to our house. They have grown and stretched to reach the light beyond the fir and cedar trees. Evergreens grow at a more rapid rate and tower over the beautiful dogwood. Right now we can walk through the woods and find every dogwood that grows within our boundaries. After the flowers fade, the trees easily blend in to the landscape, and aren't so easily seen. Friday, April 23, 2010

I love the dogwoods! Many years ago, I happened to be in Tennessee during 'Dogwood Days' in April. Do you remember the dogwood tree in my garden in Oregon?
Your pictures of this splendid tree are magnificant. So pure and pristene.
