Where this Grape Hyacinth came from is a mystery. It has found a place to grow behind our woodshed and next to a sweet wild strawberry.
Johnny-Jump-Ups flourish in the spring. They are the same shape and size as white, purple and pink violets. Technically, they are a yellow violet, according to The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Wildflowers, Western Region. They are the springiest flower I see today!
Another surprise, hidden deep in the woods, is this purple Hyacinth. It is not at all developed like a domestic Hyacinth, but does have the distinctive flower and scent. Probably a bird dropped a small bulb while flying through the woods. I'm glad!
English Daisy is part of the lawn and it can be seen throughout our place. Some weeks we don't mow so they can flourish a little longer. 
While the sunshine is warm.....I'll be spending more time outdoors!

My week took me to my knitting group yesterday (Tuesday), then to the sleep lab at Kaiser to see if I have sleep apnea and tomorrow is my birthday!! I hope for a nice day, no other wishes...Just a nice day.

Just THRILLING to all the green growing and flowers blooming there, Julene...spectacular! :o) Nothing grown outside yet here...still lots of snow working on melting...LOL! This week I am still recovering from a cold, so trying to get back into the swing of very ordinary things after nearly two weeks of sniffling and feeling unwell. Good to be feeling on the mend... I just love the photos of the wildflowers. I've been outside just enjoying the flowers blooming, moss, birds singing. It's so good to see spring coming. Our dogwoods have not bloomed yet, but they are budding. I enjoyed this posting very much.

I started a craft project....having fun with it
Honestly, I will be indoors or hiding under those huge lotus leaves...almost everyone is under the shade as we get an average of 34 - 35 celcius throughout the year. Last week, it hit 37 - 38, roasting me whenever I am under the sun. If you pop over to the beach, you will see all foreigners lounging under the sun...me and as most Asians, will under the shade all the time haha!! Happy weekend and all those wild flowers can grow anywhere in my garden.
The weather has been delightful and interesting! I love those flowers that "just show up" such a treat aren't they. One of my favorite childhood places was the neighborhood park, it formed many of my ideas about gardens and lawns, one lawn that I was particularly fond of was an seldom used ball field and it was always covered with "baby" daisies. Enjoy the great weather and the sights and smells of spring!
