Life on the farm.
We have had four days of temperatures over 60 degrees this month. This is a record breaker for our area, according to the weather man. The warm weather gets me anxious to start planning the garden. Last year I planted the below row of sunflowers near the house and I will add them again this season. There are never enough sunflowers even when I plant several packages of seeds!!
The kitty is my beloved Bart. He is strolling out to greet me in the garden. Bart was given to me by a very special young lady who found him in a heap of yard debris. He was just three weeks old. Needless to say, Bart needed some mothering and that is what I did. I took him to work with me for three months, hiding him under my desk, while children visited me to sign up for bottle feeding. I worked at a local middle school as a library assistant. My resident administrator was secretly encouraging me to allow the students help. Bart received the needed attention and I was the happiest "kitten mama" around!! Bart has now become our mouse catcher and that's not where it stops! He occasionally catches something larger and disgusting but my husband assures me it's ok. I'd rather not see the catch but Bart likes to be praised for his kills and often drops them off at the front door! This is part of living on a farm and having a cat!

Give Bart a special love and hug from his Auntie Willow! He is really a special guy, isn't he? I remember the night I first met him!
